Capsicum Masala Dry

Ingredients

  • Capsicum 4-5
  • Onion 2
  • Curry leaves
  • Oil 2 Tbsp
  • Mustard 1 Tsp
  • Asafetida 1/4 Tsp
  • Turmeric pinch
  • Salt as required
  • Fresh coconut 1/4 cup
  • Coriander leaves
  • For Masala Powder :-
  • Coriander seeds 1 Tbsp
  • Cumin seeds 1 Tsp
  • Channa dal 1 Tbsp
  • Urad dal/ black gram 1 Tbsp
  • White sesame seeds 1 Tbsp
  • Cloves 2
  • Cinnamon stick small piece
  • Byadagi chilli 4-5
  • Tamarind 1 gooseberry size

Procedure

"Capsicum Masala Dry " Western ghat and North karnataka style Tasty and aromatic side dish for akki rotti, chapati and hot rice. 

First chop onion and capsicum finely.

Dry roast all the ingredients mentioned for masala and make a powder. 

Heat oil in kadai, once it become hot add curry leaves, mustard, turmeric and asafetida.

Once mustard started to crack add chopped onion and capsicum, fry till both cook well.

Now add masala powder,  fresh coconut, salt and coriander leaves, combine well and cook for few minutes. 

Serve hot with rice, chapathi, akkirotti etc...
