Arbi Masala Dry

  • Arbi 15-20
  • Onion 1
  • Ginger garlic paste 1 Tbsp
  • Garam masale powder 1 Tsp
  • Red chilly powder 1 Tsp
  • Cumin powder 1 Tsp
  • Coriander powder 1 Tsp
  • Hung curd 1/4 cup
  • Whole cumin seeds 1/2 Tsp
  • Pinch of Asafetida
  • Salt as required
  • Pinch of Turmeric
  • Coriander leaves
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Oil for tempering 1 Tsp


"Arbi Masala Dry " A delicious North Indian style side dish. Arbi or arvi is usually called colocasia root is or taro root in English. considered one of the first cultivated plants in human history. It is included some health benefits with delicious taste. 

Peel tora roots or arbi, add liitle salt mix well and leave it for ten minutes.

Then wash properly in running water and dry it with cloth or tissue paper.

Now cut the peeled arbi in thin round slices, deep fry in oil till golden brown. 

Heat oil for tempering, once it become hot add cumin seeds, asafetida, turmeric, ginger garlic paste and chopped onion, saute till onion turns golden brown. 

Then add garam masale, red chilly powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt and hung curd mix well, now add fried tora roots and cook till water content went off. 

Lastly garnish with coriander leaves and serve with rice or chapathi.
