Homemade Garam masala Powder

  • Coriander seeds 1/4 cup
  • Cumin 1/2 cup
  • cardamom 1/2 cup
  • Black pepper 1/4 cup
  • Fennel seeds 3 Tbsp
  • Cloves 2 Tbsp
  • Cinnamon sticks (1 inch) 10-15
  • Bay leaf 1/4 cup
  • Caraway seed / Shahi jeera 2 Tbsp
  • Nutmeg 1 whole
  • Dry ginger powder 1tsp
  • Star Anise / Chakramoggu 1/2
  • jaapatre 1
  • stone flower 2


Garam Masala powder is a very aromatic and major ingredient in a north Indian cuisine, it is a blend of ground some unique Indian spices used in almost all north Indian seasoning.  At present it is very popular and we will get all around India, still it always good, hygienic, aromatic and also a give fresh feel if we preparing at home.

Dry Roast all  mentioned  in  ingredients, allow it to cool.

Once it cool down ground and make a fine powder, leave it for 30 minutes.

Then store it in airtight container.
